Parts of the Hunter Valley and far south coast of NSW are promised recovery funding after being declared natural disaster zones.When rain belted down on the Hunter last week it brought back vivid memories of the devastating storms that hit the region in April 2015.

Once again, homes were flooded, crops wiped out and roads damaged.

On a trip to Dungog, in the Hunter, Deputy Premier Troy Grant announced disaster funding for the local government areas of Dungog, Great Lakes, Maitland, Newcastle and Port Stephens, as well as Eurobodalla on the south coast.

“To quickly get back on their feet, to make the repairs necessary, to get their community functioning as fast and efficiently as possible,” he said
